The CID is funded by property owners in the CID area through an additional property rate levied on the municipal valuation of all eligible properties within the boundaries of the CID.
The Additional Rate is expressed as a Rand-in-the-rand and is calculated by dividing the CID budget total with the total municipal valuation of all properties within the boundary of the CID. The CID budget and Additional Rate are approved by Council with the City`s budget and are applicable over a financial year, which starts on 1 July.
